7-25-08
The Ashram.
This is the first that I've been to. From what I 
can figure out in my short stay,, the head guru 
was enlightened around the age of 25 when his 
guru came to him and touched a staff on his 
forehead...he was then able to experience that 
there was no difference between himself and the 
stone he was sitting on. He then proceeded to 
have these experiences more so that when, so 
the story I was told goes, he was eating dinner 
many hours had passed when he thought it was 
only 15 minutesthat had passed. 
What I do know is that the children in the ashram 
school where I did two assemblies are very 
authentic and happy. I also know this ashram 
does a massive amount of community health work 
as well as enviromental work. Regardless of ones 
belief system, they are "doing" here....it is 
monsoon raining right now and I am waiting for 
the car to arrive that will take me back to good 
ole' coimbatore...hopefully the roads have not 
become the soupy stuff they serve here that you 
eat with your bare right hand. 
Two hours later I am still waiting on a plastic 
chair near the check in desk...everyone walks slow, 
smiles...pretty chill.

skinnytubs international man of grub...

The food is considerable...espeacially when you 
have people waiting on u 24/7. There's this one 
guy, puta...and for all of u who understand spanish, 
this guy would take huge insult if he knew what 
his name meant in a latin tongue...and that would 
probably not be a good thing...he's a big dude and 
serious as a heart attack and  insists on me eating 
like an american glutten...and who am I to disapoint 
my brother...so I eat and eat ....they don't consider 
chicken to be meat and the dishes of vegetables, 
dahl, rice Noodles of some sort...and the spice is 
considerable, even the warm, salty spicy chicken 
soupy drink, rasum, that comes in between the main 
course and the sweet that is created to help digestion 
is hell spicy goodnessn though I think is u were to 
dehydrate the miniture cup full, u would have a salt 
lick for the cow on the corner...did u know that cow 
dung keeps all the bugs out!!!!

Good morning from Bangalore!  
So my first day in Bangalore was a sunday, 
they tell me there was hardly any traffic 
and that it is relaxing to drive on Sundays...
not exactly, there is lots of construction going on, 
both buildings and roads. It felt like driving 
in Nevis where I've been in the west indies, 
winding roads, dirt and paved, right side drivers 
so that I continually fell we are playing chicken 
with carnival decorated trucks. Cows a mooing, 
lots of dust and motorcyles balancing families at 
20mph.  The program at the hospital where I am 
working is unique in that it offers a very well 
rounded healing curriculum and that is how I 
received my first Ayurvedic massage.  
The doctor I saw who was required to prescribe 
the massage, basically determined that my main 
health issue was that I live in the future and 
then after a long philosophical conversation, 
smiled and said heartily, so let's get you a 
syncronized massage...it was not only two highly 
trained male therapists working my body symetrically, 
but they did this with me, in nothing more then a 
loin cloth, soaking in warm theraputic oil on a 
smooth leather bed. This therapy, atleast the oil 
part has been around, says the good doc for 10,000 
years the syncronized massage about 1000. It was a 
deep experience, feeling very much like some sort 
of hairy egyptian prince, only to be asked to get 
into a one seater steam bath. Once showered and 
dressed, the lead massuse, gave me a glass of 
clear coconut milk to replentish with...I slept well.

Andy is off to India!... but don't worry we've sent him with a
camera and blackberry... so he should be baking up a very
nice cobler....

Getting fat with Skinnytubs. 
I am on hour who knows over the north pacific ocean, 
I can taste the sushi being prepared in tokyo miles 
below.... Malasia airlines which  could double  as 
a "female modeling agency",  started me off with 
lentels and cauliflower, quite tastey actually and 
some sort of sweet rice salady thing for desert 
which I inhaled first. Indian food on an asian 
airline? Dope.  My hosts were kind enough to request 
vegetarian meals for me...though I am an LA faker, 
if the meat is grass fed, no weird ass hormones, 
loved and kissed (ur sick, stop thinking like that)) 
before it's slaughtered, I will slam that down my 
trote! Like a good human with sharpened k nines...
but in general I go the way of the 1963 hippie.
The breakfast menu just showed up on the inescapable 
box, chicken and noodles or meat and eggs... Have no 
fear, the attendant, who will soon be mine, oh yes 
she will  be mine, and will certainly offer an 
alternative to these upton sinclaire delicacies.
Oh here she comes, the sleek curves of her screamin 
pink and green traditional dress, she addresses me 
as mr tube man...I might be in love. 
Curry potatoes and some sort of somosa, carb 
heaven...even the genetically modified but very 
sweet pinapple was pretty good. I wonder if she 
cooks?... Dumplings...fried hopefully...vegetable...
sorry I'm back now. 
Headed into Taiwan now, more food and women and maybe 
even some music to come.

I was just politely informed to carry toilet tissue 
on my persons at all times while in India along with 
the reason you always give/ receive money and shake 
with your right hand.
Also, if your heading to Taipei, you might want to 
know that any type of drug trafficing can result in 
death. No charge for these little travel tips

we have gotten thousands of requests to play all over the world, but unfortunately the Jane Doe's biodiesel leer jet is at the mechanics...
so we're jumping on the web and touring from our hi speed magic carpet.  over the next couple of months we will be releasing videos, webisodes, blogs from the "road" and a full LIVE album for FREE.
Our new live album entitled "THE JANE DOE'S LIVE FROM MOZAMBIQUE" will be released one track at a time right here on our website.
For those of you on our email list we will send a link as soon as the latest track is available.
